The healthiest thing you'll do with your money all month

Y'all have lives, so I'll try to keep this one short and sweet.

If you have followed me at all on my facebook page or you've checked out my Shakeology page you have heard me rave about how much I LOVE Shakeology, how incredibly good and good for you it is, and how it's changed by body, my energy level, and my adventures in weight loss.

And if you've read up on Shakeology you may have seen the price and reacted a lot like I first did.... "OHMYGOD THATS INSANE!". But let me show you how affordable it really is, and that it really is worth it to dedicate your self to a thoughtfully engineered product like Shakeology.

A bag of Shakeology contains 30 servings, one for each day of the month. (Subjects in a 90 day study lost 10lbs on average just by simply replacing one meal a day with Shakeology.) The cost of Shakeology on Home Direct (monthly auto-ship) is $119.99. Shipping is free on Home Direct! Woo Hoo! That's about a $30 savings over 3 months, I'll take that thank-you-very-much! Depending on where you live, tax is between $6-10. So at that point, the cost comes to about $4.33 a day. The price for coaches is $89.99 on Home Direct (there's my $10 I'm saving on shipping!) plus tax, puts me around $3.33 a day.

Like mama always said, "you get what you pay for".

Still sounds too steep? Keep in mind this is weight loss at its finest! Consider this:
(I'm from Seattle so our prices are a little more, shall we say, beef'd-up, than some parts of the country.)

The average cost of going out to lunch at a restaurant: $7-13. I work downtown and Subway is across the street, which always sounds like a great, fresh idea. But consider that the sandwiches are 400-600 calories depending how they're prepared. And who knows where the sandwich fixings come from and what they could contain!

The average cost of going out for dinner at a restaurant: $10 and up, you can count on that. Add in drinks, an appetizer, entree, tip (you mean to tell me "there's room left for dessert"?). Don't get me started on the quality of ingredients, or lack-there-of, and the calories..... I do love me some Red Robin, but Red Robin's salads, prepared, weigh in at almost 900 calories!!! 900!!!

The average cost of a home-cooked lunch or dinner: This depends what you're making. Say you're trying to make something healthy.... Good deal!!  You hit the store for chicken roughly $3/lb, a box of pasta $2, grape tomatoes $3, red pepper $1, bag of salad mix $3-4, and avocado is a must for my salads $1+. Pick the shortest line you can and we're out the door at $13-15

I need it, I deserve it, I'm gonna lose my $#*& if I don't grab one before I sit in traffic for an hour: Yup. Coffee. A Seattle girl loves her coffee. For some of us this is NECESSARY to start your day. Like showering or brushing your teeth. A cup of coffee can run nearly $4 a pop and if you're one of those that needs it often, we're talkin up to $80 a month for you Starbucks-card-lovers. This can also come in the form of: happy hour with the girls, co-workers, etc. Bottle of wine to go with dinner $12, energy drink before and/or after work $4

So consider making Shakeology a part of your grocery bill each month, cut out the extras. It takes discipline to say no to going out or 'I'm sticking with water, no Tequila for me thanks'. But its SO worth it and your body will love you for it. What have you got to lose, besides those stubborn lbs of course! Take a look at this quick 2 minute video for more info as well as the official Shakeology page

Chocolate Shakeology with peanut butter is my FAVORITE! Like a reeces peanut butter cup in glass!
